CCIE Voice Lab!!! VWIC2-1MFT-T1/E1 & WIC-1MFT-E1

I want to set up ccie voice lab. I have one HDV WIC-E1 with 3640 and one VWIC2-E1 with 2811.

As you might know, Cisco use their router (have T1 and E1 PRI interface) to do PSTN simulation.

My Question is that:

Can VWIC2 E1 interconnect (crossover cable) with VWIC E1 without any problem??

Yes, just make sure its a T1 crossover cable and make sure one side is set to provide clocking, and one gets clocking from line.

Also, on the side you want to be your "carrier" make sure under the interface Serial x/x:15, you have the command "isdn protocol-emulate network".

So I will assume that 1st generation E1 is compatiable with 2nd generation E1.

Yes, that it is correct. The main difference between those two cards (among others) is that the second generation can be E1 or T1. Once configured for E1 there is no compatibility issues between the two.
