CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

Hi all i got a CCM 4.1(3)sr3b with a Gatekeeper that allows me to reach my CME. Everithing is fine. If now i add an IP to IP Gw with the invia and outvia zone the call is connected but no voice path. If i use the IP-IP-Gw directly in the CCM it is working good...

IP-IP Gw is on the GK plateform but on another one it is the same. IOS 12.4(3e)

GK-IPIPGW config:

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

Eric,

A few things seem to be missing. Is this your complete IPIPGw config ?

If VGK is the VIA zone your calls from CCM-GK to BR2-GK should go through the VIA zone and vice versa (if they have to call each other through the IPIPGw.

zone local VGK ipexpert.com 172.1.100.1

zone local CCM-GK ipexpert.com invia VGK outvia VGK

zone local BR2-GK ipexpert.com invia VGK outvia VGK

zone prefix CCM-GK 1...

zone prefix ATA 4...

no use-proxy ATA default inbound-to terminal

no use-proxy ATA default outbound-from terminal

Also your dial-peers seem to be incomplete.

dial-peer voice 1 voip

incoming called-number 3...

dtmf-relay h245-alpha

codec g711ulaw

dial-peer voice 2 voip

destination-pattern 3...

session target ras

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

codec g711ulaw

Dial-peers 1 and 2 will answer a call from CM and send it to CME. You will need two other dial-peers like this to send calls from CME to CM. I have set codec in this case to g711ulaw. If you are using g711 from CCM and g729 to CME, you will need to transcode the call.

I have my IP2IP gateway running?

How can I see active calls in my IP2IP GW?

Thanks

show call active voice brief

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

Hi Sankar,

your post is right, there is no call from CME to CCM AND the IPIPGW is acting as a transcoder, call from CCM uses G711 and from IPIPGwto CME it is G729r8.

I found the solution, it was a parameter on the CCM that i forgot to uncheck: wait for far end h245 terminal capabilities.

To be honest, the configuration is a strange one because i am preparing for voice CCIE...

Thank you for your comments.

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

When you said your calls connected, but no audio, did you ever notice if one side was connected while the other side showed Ringout ?

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

It looks like it is connected on the CME side while the CCM still with ringback tone.

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

Eric,

Glad to know that you are expereiencing the same behaviour as i am when I test this out. So you are saying that if you uncheck the h245 far end cap. check under the trunk, your call is getting connected ?

Re: CCM -> GK -> IP to IP GW -> CME problem...

Hi,

I am managing the Video conferencing project but I am struggling to select the appropriate IOS for GK and also router. Please provide some suggestion.

1. Is 2620 is enough for GK? (I am going to use 8 X 256 Video calls through Tandberg gateway)

2. Please suggest the appropriate GK IOS?

Thanks
