CCM6 and call quality issues with H323 gateway

I am running

Router - 2811 - 12.4(3i)

--- Phone connections ---

1 - PRI

4 Analog lines

Users are complaining of the following issues

1) The voice/sound fades in and out

2) Some people here noise along with fading/cutting out voice

Some people who have complained, we replaced their phones and the problem wasn't as bad but they still hear it.

Not everyone in the company is experiencing this issue too.

I started to T/S so I did the following

1) Enabled QRT on the phones

2) Informed users to use the QRT - Since then they have been reporting the problem.

In the QRt it shows who called/calling. It shows the time and other numbers/info I don't know anything about.

I then used the date/time along with the called number to search the CCM traces to look at the call.

I was hoping it would show me the port, (PRI or the analog ports) the call came in or out of. In the logs I see the IP phone. I see the H323 setup and responses but I cannot see the line it used.

I was hoping it did and maybe narrow it down to the PRI or the analog lines. Has anyone else run into a similar issue?

If so, how did you go about fixing it?

Does anyone know where I can look to see what line it used?

Re: CCM6 and call quality issues with H323 gateway

You should be able to figure out if it was the analog or PRI based on the called number (assuming these calls are outbound). Is this only happening on inbound calls?

My gut tells me this is an analog line noice/strength issue. Is it repeatable / does it follow certain callers?

Re: CCM6 and call quality issues with H323 gateway

From the QRT reports its on both inbound and outbound

Now the inbound calling

1800 numbers come over the PRI

2 local inbound numbers hunt over the POTS

Outbound dialing

-- international calls go out PRI and then fail over to pots

-- Local calls go out over POTs and then will go over PRI

-- Long Distance calls go over POTS and then PRI

So for outbound, if the POTS fill up it will use the PRI.

This is why I was trying to find what endpoint it used, so I can tell if its all analog or not.
