I have a setup where we use 7960s with 7914s. The expansion modules are there for the customer to monitor the rest of the lines. We have 13 lines configured for monitoring only and all of them are on the module, which leaves 5 buttons on the 7960 for speed dials. What's happening is that we cannot add more than one speed dial to the phone, and that speed dial is assigned to the last button on the module. It seems like the phone sees the 5 lines on the 7960 as taken, adds the speed dial to the first available (and the only one available) button on the module, and ignores the rest. Is this supposed to be happening by design?
I would check your phone button templates, most likely the 7960 template in use has the 6 buttons on the phone set to be directory numbers instead of speed dials. Go to Device-Device Settings-Phone button templates and create a 7960 template that has the 5 available buttons on the 7960 set to be speed dials, then associate that template with the phone under the phone settings page.
Dragi, this works as designed. Speed dial buttons take lower "precedence" than monitoring lines, and hence they will only configure after the last monitoring line. Even though you have open slots on the phone, the system will not allow you to use those buttons for speed dials. We have discussed enhancing this function, but have not gotten to it yet.
