CCME Dial Peer selection

I have a CME3.2 in New York

I have a Callmanager4.1 in Dublin

I use this dial peer in NY for all outgoing PSTN calls. Users use 0 for a line out.

dial-peer voice 10 pots

capacity update interval 10

destination-pattern 0T

progress_ind setup enable 3

progress_ind alert enable 8

incoming called-number .

port 0/0/0:0

This is working perfectly for incoming and outgoing calls.

I want to implement least cost routing from the CME site (New York) to a callmanager site (Dublin)

I propose using a

dial-peer voice 50 voip

destination-pattern 0011353T

voice-class codec 1

session-target ipv4: (Dublin VG)

translate-outging called 1

dtmf-relay h245-alphanumeric

no vad

translation-rule 1

rule 1 % 00

The dial peer strips out 011353 and this translation rule adds the required 00 for the VG in Dublin.

My question.

will my

dial-peer voice 50 voip

be selected first over my

dial-peer voice 10 pots

because it is a more specific match, or will my pots dial peer be selected because it is first in the list.

This is difficult for me to test as I only have VPN access to NY and I do not want to be disrupting service to the NY users

Any input is much appreciated.

Re: CCME Dial Peer selection

The dial-peer selection is based on the closest match, so the dial-peer 50 will be selected when user dials 0011353T.
