CCME registers FXS but not dial-peers to GK

Hi,

We have 7 CCME sites some of these ISR routers have FXS/Ports.

The question I have is why dont the Ephones register there numbers with the GK.

The FXS ports do.

Using dial-plan-pattern command we are not using the no-reg systax at the end .

So I would have thought that the dial-plan number would at least register with GK.

Is this IOS dependant

Thanks

Re: CCME registers FXS but not dial-peers to GK

Hi,

The FXS port are usualy asigned a complete E.164 number hnece it registers automatically to the GK. As for e-fxs ports they are not physical entities but virtual ports.

So what does the no-reg e164 command do and the end of the dial-plan pattern command if thats the case.

Do ephone numbers ever register to GK

Thanks

Re: CCME registers FXS but not dial-peers to GK

By default, gateways register all analog device e.164 addresses. They do not, however, register all dial-peers. If you want them to register dial-peers, try configuring the following.

on the CME:

voice service voip

h323

ras rrq dynamic prefixes

then on the gatekeeper:

gatekeeper

rrq dynamic-prefixes-accept

Please let me know if this helps by rating the post.

Re: CCME registers FXS but not dial-peers to GK

Forgot to mention the answer to your last question at the end of my last post.

The no-register command at the end of the dial-plan pattern or in a dial-peer creates exceptions to the globally configured, dynamic prefix registration directive I described before.
