I need a way for a school secretary to change the Opening greeting from standard to alternate remotely. This person does not have Internet access and would like to do it over the phone like there old system. Is this possible?
Create a subscriber mailbox instead of a call handler. It can be setup to do just about anything a call handler can, but you can have access to it through subscriber sign-in to change the greeting from standard to alternate.
There is currently only one way to do this. You have to change your application to point to a subsriber box as opposed to a Call Handler. This has been a known issue and Cisco has been trying to fix it. They currently say it will be fixed in Unity 3.2. Anyway, the subscriber box can do everything that the CallHandler can do by modifying the caller input section of the subscriber to match the caller input section of the call handler. You can even cut and paste your greetings using the media master. The only drawback is that it will eat up 1 subscriber license.
