On the subscribers pages in the SA, go to the conversations options page and there you'll see message addressing options (first name/last name, last name first name or extension). Users can change this for themselves via the AA if you want.
they can also use "##" to toggle between addressing by extension or by name from the phone conversation if they want to go back and forth for whatever reason.
