CiscoPress has a new book, Cisco IP Telephony, ISBN 1-58705-050-1, is very good. Do not waste your money on Boson modules. They are useless.

Laura,
There is a brand new Cisco Press book out that covers the CIPT exam. It's called Cisco IP Telephony. It appears to be the course notes from the CIPT Class with some extras added in.
If you can't take the class for whatever reason, the Book may be a decent substitute. Also Boson has some practice exams (3 I think) for the CIPT exam. I checked out the Demo and they seem to be a good study source.
The bottom line on the CIPT exam is to be familiar with the Call Manager, Cisco IP Phones (first and second generation), basic QoS, voice/aux vlans, and the cisco voice gateways.
If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
