Tc=Bc/CIR. Say CIR 8000bits/s, Bc 1000bits/s, Be 1000bits/s.
Question:
1. per interval, what's the maxium rate? CIR/8+Bc+Be=1000+1000+1000=3000 or Bc+Be=2000?
2. The definition for Be is the rate at which traffic is allowed to burst beyond the sustained burst rate during the first interval. Does that mean Be only can be for first interval? Let's say 1sec, you can have Be at the first 125ms interval ?
Thanks

This is really a good link and make my evey question clear.
In case anybody else has the same question< I'll post the question and answer here.
Question
Tc=Bc/CIR. Say CIR 8000bits/s, Bc 1000bits/int, Be 1000bits/int (on my first post I used second, that was wrong).
1. During per interval, what's the maxium rate? CIR/8+Bc+Be=1000+1000+1000=3000 or Bc+Be=2000?
Answer is: Only in the first interval maxium rate is Bc+Be=2000.
2. The definition for Be is the rate at which traffic is allowed to burst beyond the sustained burst rate during the first interval. Does that mean Be only can be for first interval? Let's say 1sec, you can have Be only at the first 125ms interval ?
Answer: yes. This same concept as quesion 1.
Unfortunatelly this is the only I have seen so far wiich explains this very clearly.
