CIsco IP Phone (SIP)

I am trying to register my phone with a SIP server on its public ip address at remote site. I have get tone. Everything seems to be fine, configured extension given sip proxy address and port etc. But when i dial out there is a message on LCD ( calling (INV out)). And phone icon of right top side of LCD is with cross sign it does not shoes on-hook or off-hook signal through that phone icon on LCD. What is the issue in this scenario?

Hi cisco,

Which proxy server you are using?

Looks like IP Phone is not registered at all.

Normally as a tip with I always use SNIFFER trace to see SIP messages.

Gather SNIFFER from IP Phone booting up to see if registration is succesful, then when dialing.

Hi Gogasca,

I am on another system and ethreal uses interface of that system on which it runs, so i can define to capture IP phone packet. I guess through ethreal i can capture packets thats coming or leaving my system interface card. Any suggestion?

issue has been resolved. There was on option on cisco ip phone of NAT that was not enabled.
