Does any one know how to set up a Cisco IP telephony system. What equipments do I need to get everything going. At this moment, does the technologies good enough to make international long distance call. Please advice as soon as possible.
I am very new in this ip telephone area. I am willing to learn this amazing technology.

At minium you will need cisco callmanager, cisco ip phones, and some sort of PSTN gateway to make offnet calls. You should be able to find gateways in the link above.

We use IP phones here at the cisco campus and I believe most all of the cisco sites use IP phones as well as many many customers. We make long distance, local, and international calls all the time and the quality if great.

I have installed a cisco ip telephony system with no voice background just the cipt class and I love this system. We brought two pri's in for off net calls and have a call manager cluster.
