A Unity specific version of the Cisco Security Agent is now available for download free of charge. This component works to harden Unity server which makes it significantly less vulnerable to worms, viruses and other forms of attack. It is highly recommend that customers running Unity 4.X install this tool.

When will we see a version of this for CallManager?

tm

I was told the agent is in CM 3.3 already though management cosole for full blown managemnet and reports not available just yet.

Do a search for CSA in CM registry there is an entry

Theirs no doco on CCO I'd imagine we will get some

doco shortly once its released to gen-pop

Allan

I am hearing a different stoy on this end. I am told the agent within CM is very near release but that it will not be a manageable agent. Anybody else?

First customer ship (FCS) of CSA for CallManager is planned for the end of October. It will be posted to cisco.com and a new CD will be included in the distribution kit with complete installation instructions.

Thanks,

Keith

Thanks for getting us straight Keith. What versions of CM will be able to run the CSA? Will I be able to install it on an existing CM or is there an upgrade involved to get it to run?

The initial 1.0 beta release is supported on 3.2(3) and 3.3(x) with OS 2000.2.4 or later. I assume that the 1.1 FCS release will be the same but I can say for sure.

That is all I know...

Thanks Keith,

You know more the rest of us! :)

I can't seem to find CSA for either platform on CCO at the moment -- have they moved?

Thanks!

I get a 404 on the CSA link. Has this file been pulled?

Is there a Unity Agent available anymore?

Yes... the release notes detail where to download it from. You'll find the release notes here:

http://ftp.cisco.com/cisco/voice/unity/4.0/CiscoUnitySecAgent1.1.2.ReleaseNotes.pdf

In the release notes there is an open caveat (CSCed14125) that warns of a periodic blue screen on a multi-processor Unity server. Since my failover server is a dual-processor MCS-7835-H-2.4-ECS1, and my primary server is a SVR-7837, would be appropriate to load CSA 1.1(2) on the primary, and no CSA agent on the secondary?
