Cisco Unity 3.1.3

I have problems in the step "Setting Active Directory Permissions for the Cisco Unity Installation, Service, and Administration Accounts.

I have created the accounts on the Active Directory computer which is the domain controller and when I try to add those accounts to the local Administration group on the Unity computer (Cisco Unity is not a domain controller) I can select the accounts created in the Active Directory machine but when I click continue the system says that the computer is not ready and

it has no connection with the domain controller.

I don't know how to continue

Should I install Active Directory in the Unity computer?

Re: Cisco Unity 3.1.3

No, you don't want to install AD on the local computer. I usually shop the exact error message at and/or 99% of the time an solution exists in one of those places.

Hope that helps,

Re: Cisco Unity 3.1.3

Thanks for your help.

The solutions posted involve doing the process from the command prompt

but it did not work in my case. The ms-dos error message is:

System error 5

Access denied

Does anybody know another workaround?

Re: Cisco Unity 3.1.3

Finally found the solution.

The problem is due to DNS.

I changed the hosts file adding the requested lines, i.e. the ip address to machine name translation ( .

It worked in my case.
