Cluster reload flow after new node adding

Hello,

when I add new node (aka subsequent node aka subscriber) to the cluster

in which order it is better to reload the cluster. I'm interested in 2 scenarios.

1. x1 PUB, newly added 1st (first) SUB. Reboot server flow/order:

a) Restart SUB server

b) Wait until it will be up and running

c) Restart PUB server

2. x1 PUB, newly added 2nd (second) SUB. Reboot server flow/order:

a) Restart SUB server #2

b) Wait until it will be up and running

c) Restart SUB server #1

d) Wait until it will be up and running

e) Restart PUB server

Please, advice, and correct, if needed.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Cluster reload flow after new node adding

1. not necessary

2. it's recommended and best practice to do it, to sync SDL layer

Re: Cluster reload flow after new node adding

cluster reboot order is based on CTI ID, you can find it under system -> Cisco Unified CM. click on a server, you'll get a different value per server. follow that order to reboot them. 1, 2, 3, etc

process is simple, start from node 1, reboot, wait until it fully comes up, then reboot node 2 and so on til you finish with all servers

Re: Cluster reload flow after new node adding

Jaime,

Great explanation, thank you.

Let me, please, 2 (two) another questions.

1. Should I restart the whole cluster after changing security password by means of "Password Recovery" procedure ?

2. Should I restart the whole cluster after adding new subscriber node ?
