Clustering over the IP WAN

Greetings,

We are setting up a CCM cluster between two sites. A DS3 connects these two sites so we are thinking of clustering over the WAN. Anyone set this up? Any issues that are unforseen?

Thanks.

We have the same exact setup and it works great. No problems with the CCM at all. We did have problems with our DS3 provider, but that's a different problem. Just make sure that the DS3 has been up and running for at least 2 weeks before connecting the 2 sites on the CCM cluster.

Hi,

You might want to review "Cluster over the IP WAN" using the IP Telephony Solution Reference Network Design Guide CCM Rel 3.2.pdf doc. There is very good section in there. It looks like the CCO has been updated and I thus can no longer find this document, but here is a link anyway: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/netsol/ns110/ns163/ns165/ns268/networking_solutions_design_guidances_list.html

You need to ensure you have 900Kbps of bandwidth reserved for every 10,000 Call Busy Hour Attempts in the cluster. There is also a requirement for the RTT delay to be less than 40ms. This is to ensure the clustering works properly.
