CME and Voice Quality issue (too soft)

Hi All,

anybody know how to solve the voice quality issue on CME? My users always complain about it, the voice quality is very soft, eventhough I have put the command "no vad" under the voice-port. I am using isdn PRI for outgoing calls.

thanks in advance

Re: CME and Voice Quality issue (too soft)

Try using the command 'input gain X' on your voice-port. This will adjust the volume level of the incoming voice signal. Acceptable values are -6 through 14. Start somewhere around 3 or 6 and find something that your users are comfortable with. Higher is louder; negative values decrease the volume below what the PSTN gives you and positive values increase it.

You can apply volume modification in the reverse direction with the 'output attenuation' command. Acceptable values are again -6 to 14, and negatiave attenuation values would effectively be output gain.
