CME Intercom feature question

I am trying to setup CME with the intercom feature.

The documentation states:"The called ephone-dn automatically answers the call in speakerphone mode with MUTE ACTIVATED"

But the mute functionality is not working and I am not sure if this is a documentation mistake.

I tried the following:

Router(config-ephone-dn)#intercom 1888 barge-in

***This just barges in with mute off***

Then #intercom 1888 no-auto-answer

***This one just rings the destination DN"

I would assume it should be something like "intercom 1888 barge-in no-auto-answer" but that command is not available.

Anyone got this to work?

Re: CME Intercom feature question

I am not sure what you're trying to accomplish. If you just need the intercom feature, all you need to do is configure is

number something,

label something,

intercom remote extension

The barge-in feature is there to interrupt an existing call and put it on hold while answering an intercom call.

You can turn off mute on the other side by adding no-mute command to the number remote extension line.
