CME

Hi All;

We are using CME. I need to configure the receptionist phone that she would be able to see the call status of other user. for example if somebody calls from outside and receptionist picks up the phone, she has to know about call status of other user and if someone from inside is talking through the phone, before the receptionist transfer the caller to that extension, she knows that person is talking and notify caller that extension is busy. Do I need to use overlay ephone-dn ro shared ephone-dn or something else.

very appreciate for your respond

Alex

Re: CME

Alex,

You can do this using a 7914 side car on a 7960. Or if you get a 7961 , the buttons are have light on them. The lamp lits on a shared line if the internal user is on busy.

Re: CME

Also make it a monitor line, so this way if the line is IDLE it serves as speed dial as well.

Re: CME

you will need to use the shared ephone-DN feature.

this will provide a line of the other user as well as an icon that changes when the user is on that line using it.

Re: CME

Alex, you can use 7914 with a 7940 or 7960 IP Phone, on the ephone configuration of your receptionist you can configure to monitor the status of other users, even if there is a voice mail unread in one of them, like this:

ephone 4

mac-address 0415.C83E.21B7

type 7960 addon 1 7914

button 1:4 2:5 7m1 8m3

button 9m7 10m8 11m9 12m10

button 13m12 14m13 15m14 16m15

button 17m16 18m17 19m18 20m19

where the first number is the button and the second number after the m is the ephone-dn of the users you want to monitor.

Hope this help you.
