codec convert for unity

Codec over WAN is G.729, on LAN is G.711. I know that unity can convert codec automatically if calls come in as a G.729 even unity recording is G.711.

My customer doesn't want to do convert on unity in order to keep the unity performance. They want to do convert on DSP module from Router. Does any body know how to do that and how does that work in theory?

Here is one way on the router. You can also use a VG200
