Company Directory in Subscriber

Hi,

I have a problem with my newly installed Call Manager Subscriber 4.1.3 with patch 3a. The Primary CCM is in the main office with a subscriber localy (same vlan, lets call this subscriber S1). The new subscriber is in a remote site, in a city miles away from the main office (subscriber 2 will be S2), accesing the CCM via Wan.

If the wan was down all the phones in the remote site would register to the remote Subscriber S2, but when the users try to see the directory in the phone they just dont find anything. Once the wan link is restored then the remote users are able to see again the company?s directory. Is there something I am missing in order to have the company directory in S2 even when the wan link is down? Is it possible?

Thanks and kindest regards,

Fernando

Re: Company Directory in Subscriber

Fernando,

The issue here is that your phones are pointing to the web address for the corporate directory configured in Enterprise Parameters. This address is evidently the publisher server. So when the WAN goes down, the phones still try to use the URL that points to the publisher which is no longer reachable.

One solution would be to configure the Directory URL at the device level for the remote office phones so that they always use the local server for directory access. You could use BAT to set this in bulk based on device profiles to keep from configuring each phone individually.

Hope this helps. If so, please rate the post.
