Conference call configuration

Hello,

I am trying to get conference calling enabled on my 2811 running c2800nm-advipservicesk9-mz.124-6.T and Call Manager 3.4. I have 7912 series telephones and do realize that I must use the handset because the phone doesn't come with a microphone.

The configuration is as follows:

telephony-service

load 7912 CP7912060101SCCP050429B.sbin

max-ephones 16

max-dn 16

ip source-address 10.1xx.xxx.193 port 2000

auto assign 7 to 8

When I attempt a conference call the phone displays the message "Can not complete conference". This message is displayed as soon as I press the conference button.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Conference call configuration

Not suspecting your capabilities, I hope you have followed the procedure to conference as follows.

a. Phone A dials Phone B (phone b answers)

b. Phone A presses Conf. soft key and gets new dial tone.

c. Phone A dials Phone C. (phone c answers)

d. Phone A presses Conf soft key again.

Are you getting the above error at step b or step d ?

Sankar.

Re: Conference call configuration

Since I am new to VOIP you should definitely suspect my abilities:)

I perform step "A" successfully. When I do step "B" I do NOT receive a new dial tone but rather the phone LCD displays the message "can not complete conference".

Thanks!

Re: Conference call configuration

I told you that you should suspect my abilities. After reviewing the directions you sent I realized that I tried to conference from a call I had received NOT placed. It works using the directions you sent!

Thanks and sorry for wasting your time.

Brian

Re: Conference call configuration

Brian,

Glad that worked for you!

Even for a received call, you should be able to follow, steps b, c, d to add another person to the call.

Note that you can only do 3 party conference calls in CME.

Sankar.
