configmgr.exe

Kept getting unable to configure default settings for a demo version of 2.46.<br>Ran configmgr.exe and get the following error message:<br>2001-09-25 15:39:34 (AvLogMgrSvr_MC,10007,diag file opened,) LOGMGR OPENDIAGFILE <br>15:39:34:234 (AvLogMgrSvr_MC,10001,-1,-1) LOGMGR INITIALIZE <br>15:39:34:235 (AvLogMgrSvr_MC,10002,-1,-1) LOGMGR RUN <br>15:39:35:484 (AvSystemConfig_MC,1098,SystemConfig,10) Failed to log onto the Doh. <br>please advise<br><br><br>

"Failed to log onto the Doh." looks like your major problem to me. Do you have some doh events in the event log? What do they say?

See post "Unable to configure default settings" I was getting this same error. Solution was to manually create a Unity profile in outlook.

That's not a good solution, unfortunately. It'll work in the short term but a manually created profile will have a limit of around 250 users on the box. If you'll never go over that many subscribers, cool... when we programatically create a profile we pass in some special parameters that lift this MAPI restriction on the profile.

Deleting the profile and restarting the server should force the AvCsMgr service to create the message profile on the fly. Both the profile and the "Unity Messaging System " account should be created if they are found to be missing. I use this method frequently in the field if folks have touched one or the other or one goes missing etc... This is definitely the prefered method of dealing with the profile.
