Hi,

I was trying to configure a Unity UM with TTS, using Cisco Configuration Tool.

But, I encountered a problem and I have come to a dead end after trying different options.

Problem:
There are only two options for TTS.
- 2-port RealSpeak TTS
- 4-port RealSpeak TTS
And none of them will go with Unity-UM-875Users-32sessions or Unity-UM-1175Users-40sessions.

The error message from Configuration Tool informs that 2-port RealSpeak TTS will work with 4 and 8 sessions UM, and 4-port RealSpeak TTS will work with 12, 16 and 24 sessions UM.

Does it mean that if I choose a 32sessions or 40 sessions UM, there is no TTS that is compatible?

Another Clarification:
I saw from the questions posted that there is TTS3000. But, there is no option for TTS3000 in Configuration Tool. Does TTS3000 comes by default for Unity UM?

If this is not the correct channel for the above queries, could you kindly inform the correct channel to go?

Thanks for your time and advice.

There are resource restrictions on TTS ports, especially with RealSpeak, since it is a CPU-hungry speech engine. This is why large port & user configurations will limit the TTS options -- it's a matter of preserving call processing quality.
TTS3000 is the default TTS engine. It's not as processor-intensive (or expensive) as RealSpeak, but it's also considered more artificial sounding. This is the engine that will be installed if RealSpeak is not purchased.
The Configuration Tool falls more under the sales domain, but I'm pretty certain it will automatically apply the restrictions to large port configurations.
