How do you setup/configure Call Manager to allow the receptionist to page employee's over an intercom system. This weekend I will be upgrading our CM to 3.3.2 and then soon after implement the paging system. Thanks!

assign a DN to all the phones that is set for auto answer, Recpt dials the number and all the sets go off-hook,

other wise you need an FXO and an AMP with speakers to do zone paging, or an FXS without a zone.

This would not work though for paging multiple phones at the same time would it? I took the queston to be a receptionist wants to page thoughout the entire office.

Correct, the receptionist would not be paging a particular phone or phones. They would be paging a user through the intercom (between floors) to let a user know they have a call parked.

Does Cisco have a phone that has an "audio out" port or feature?

Thanks

If you have a line set for auto-answer (paging) it cannot be a shared line.

If you are using an external paging system like a valcom or bogen, you need to determine what type of port the system requires. It will most likely be FXO or FXS. Just get an ata-18x or use an empty port on a voice router if you have one. Assign a DN, and you are set.

The closest you get to a pure "audio out" port is an E&M port (VIC-2E/M). This will interface with most things that say they can interface with a "page port", including most paging system amplifiers from vendors like Bogen or Valcom.

Here is a URL that describes how to wire it up:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk652/tk653/technologies_configuration_example09186a008015094e.shtml

If it isn't convenient for you to get an E&M port, there are boxes available from Bogen (TAMB) and Valcom (V-9970) that you can connect to a station port (like VIC-2FXS, or ATA-186 with certain code and settings, or NM-HDA). These will answer a call and output a line-level audio source suitable for connection to a paging system amplifier.
