Connect PBX to PBX with analog ports.

I have 2600's at both sites where the PBX's are. Each router has two FXO and two FXS ports on it. What is the best way to connect the PBX's together so that the users on each PBX can call the extensions on the other PBX and use the PSTN out of the other PBX on either side to avoid long distance calls? The user on the PBX dials 5 and then the three digit extension or 59 and a 7 digit number to use the local calling out of the other PBX. The PBX's do not pass the 5 to the routers.

Since there has been no response to your post, it appears to be either too complex or too rare an issue for other forum members to assist you. If you don't get a suitable response to your post, you may wish to review our resources at the online Technical Assistance Center (http://www.cisco.com/tac) or speak with a TAC engineer. The best way is to replace your interfaces with VIC-2E/M interfaces instead. It is a real pain to try and get the FXS/FXO combination to work without alot messing around.

I tried the FXS/FXO combination and switched to E&M because of the simplicity of E&M and the programming on the PBX's was minimal.
