Have got the following from Cisco site:
OS79XX.TXT
P0S3-08-2-00.loads
P0S3-08-2-00.sb2
P003-08-2-00.bin
P003-08-2-00.sbn
The converting process states that I need 4 files namely:
SIPDefaultGeneric.cnf
SIPConfigGeneric.cnf
RINGLIST.DAT
ringer1.pcm
Cisco wont allow me to download these files. Is there any other place I can get it. Here is the details of my current 4940 IP phone
MAC Address 001BD52C578B
Host Name SEP001BD52C578B
Phone DN 5299
App Load ID P0030301MFG2
Boot Load ID PC0303010200
Version 3.1(MF.G2)
Thanks for your help

Hi,
I don't think these files are needed for firmware conversion, ignore them or supply empty ones. Later on, you can configure them for further personalization.

Then what files do I need ? Thanks for your help

The firmware files only.

Manage to change that. On Firmware status it now says
Application Load ID
P0S30203
Boot Load ID
PC030301
My Asteriks box IP is 192.168.0.48and my number is 4002 with my password 2004
Thanks for your help

How do I reset all the configuration of this phone to the factory default settings ?
01-02-2008 04:01 AM
Power one while pressing #. Release when display "reset sequence dtected". Press 12345689*0#. Press again 2 to confirm network settings erase.
This will erase also the firmware, so you must have DHCP and TFTP server correctly configured to provide firmware again to the phone.

Did try that and didnt get that message "reset sequence dtected". Did recycle the power while pressing #. IT go straing into configuring VLAN and then configuring IP then back to the normal phone display

I've heard someone else with the same problem. I don't know what to say. This is only known reset sequence, it has always worked for me:
