Connection Trunk

I am involved in a voice network where all voice connections are via connection trunks. The network is in a square with links between each site. If the link goes down the connection trunks go over the other link (session target is destination loopback address).

The problem is when the original link comes back up, there are no logs to say what has happened to the trunks, although they are all still up & running. How can I prove which way around the network these connections are going?
