Console Attendant use with CM/AD integration ...Line status ?

I have CM 4.1(3) integrated with AD. The phone number for the users in AD is 10-digit extension. The CM has 4 digit ext for the phones.

Due to AD integration, the Console Attendant displays 10 digit extension, with a ? status for the lines. If we change the ext to 4 digit in AD it works fine. Is there any way we can maintain the 10 digit ext in AD and make it work with Attendant console ? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am sure someone would have come accross the same dilemma before :)

Re: Console Attendant use with CM/AD integration ...Line status

Hi,

This is never goin to work. As you have CM integrated with AD, when you use Attendant Console, it pulls information from AD and displays the userlist.

Now, as you have 10 digit extension in AD for the users, that is what is being displayed on the Attendant console screen, as it pulls all information from AD.

The ? mark comes up on the screen because the TCD service cannot contact the 10 numbers for the users and cannot determine the state of those lines.

So, inorder to resolve this, change the 10 digit extensions in AD to the correct 4 digit extensions and that will be the end of all this.

Re: Console Attendant use with CM/AD integration ...Line status

Here is the fix.

On CCM running TCD server under C:\Program

Files\Cisco\CallManagerAttendant\etc , there is "dialrulesexample.xml" file

Modify the file according to your needs ,say, the Directory lists the users

telephone number as 10 digits , 408123xxxx,and internal extn is xxxx we can

have rule as :

BeginsWith="408123" NumDigits="10" DigitsToRemove="6" PrefixWith="" .

Save the above file as "dialrules.xml".

Relogin to Console,It should show correct line state..
