I am considering implementing a voice and data convergence system using CISCO routers. If I have primary link speeds of 256kbps, what impact will there be on the system's overall performance, if the routers use ISDN as a back-up to the main links.

Thanks in advance.

Starting from medium range routers like 2600, the Cisco routers are designed to handles speeds upto 2Mbps or higher. You can definitely go for Cisco based solution for Voice and data convergence after all Cisco is the leader in Routing Technologies.
