convert a 7940 from SIP to SCCP

Okay I give up and need help. I can't get the phone to download the SCCP code from my TFTP server. I edited the OS79XX.TXT file and have only the line P0020301. The P0020301.bin file exists on the TFTP server. When the phone boots, it requests OS79XX.TXT first, then continues on to SIPDefault.cnf, SIP000BFD0423EC.cnf, RINGLIST.DAT, and dialplan.xml.

I tried to find the UNSIP.ZIP file on CCO without luck.

What do I have to do to kill this !@#$ SIP protocol?

Thanks,

Patrick Brown

For starters, P0020301 is not the right load for a 7940/7960. It has to start wit P003.

I'm a little further now. Thanks for the assist. Now it's looking for a file called P00303010102.sbn. That file is not in my tftp directory. Where can I find it?

What load is the phone currently running? What did you put in the OS79xx.txt?

Re: convert a 7940 from SIP to SCCP

Application Load ID = P0S3-05-3-00

Boot Load ID = PC030301

OS79XX.txt file has a single line that says

P00303030401

I have tried P00303010102, P00303030200, P00303030202, and P00303030401.

Re: convert a 7940 from SIP to SCCP

Ahh, OK.

you are running a 5.x load, which is a signed load. Once you upgrade to a signed load, you cannot revert to an unsigned load. You need to download the 5.x version of the SCCP load from CCO, the latest is 5.0.3.

Update your OS79xx.txt to reflect the new load and you should be set.

Is there a way to extract the code without installing it on my CallManager?

Re: convert a 7940 from SIP to SCCP

You could extract it onto the CM, then change the device default back to the original.

I sent the load to you at pbrown@sla.com

The load worked great. Thanks for sending it and all your support.
