Corporate Directory

I am running CUCM 7.0 with AD integration. Is there a way to add phones to the corporate directory that don't have an associated AD account? This is for common phones such as shipping/receiving that are shared, but doesn't have a user assigned to that extension. Thanks.

Re: Corporate Directory

AD Integration disables the end user creation feature in CUCM.

I get around this by creating dummy users in AD which then get imported in CUCM and appear in the Corporate Directory.

It is a good idea to set up a new OU to contain these dummy users and to pare down their rights. You can add another LDAP search base pointing to the OU to allow it to be put somewhere sensible in your AD directory structure.

Re: Corporate Directory

Hi JON WAGNER

You can do this Creating users in the CUCM.

Pl follow below steps to achieve the same:

-->Login CUCM

-->Goto Usermanagement>Enduser

-->Click "Add a new user" link.

-->Give the details and associate Ip Phone nmber in the Telephone no.

-->Save the details

-->Likewise repeat the same for all other uses in ur cluster.

-->Then go to Phone, press Directories button>corporate directory>search using the first or last name or directly press the Search button.

Hope solves the issues.

Regards

Karthik

Re: Corporate Directory

That is correct. Once you are LDAP enabled, you can not create or edit endusers in CUCM.

Cisco may be looking at another way to sync up LDAP contacts so an actual AD User account does not have to be created for common phones in the directory IE, Kitchen, Lobby, Etc. As long as you have their First Name Last Name and ID filled in, CUCM will sync it. If you just fill in "Kitchen" for the first name, it will not sync it.

Cheers!
