Cover Path and Voice Mail

I encountered a problem with cover path and voice mail. We are using CallManager 3.3 and Cisco IP Phone 7940 series. Here is the scenario: one of our managers has his secretary to cover his phone for him. Now, I set the manager's extension 5000 "Forward Busy" and "Forward No Answer" in the CallManager to the secretary's extension 5050. Now, caller John call 5000 and there is no one answering the phone, the call was forwarded to extension 5050. The secretary picked up the call, but John asked to leave a message on the manager's voice mail box. How does the secretary transfer it back into the manager's voice mail box?

Since we set the manager's phone up both "forward no answer" and "forward busy" to the secretary's extension, the call will just loop back to extension 5050 if the secretary forward it back to the extension 5000.

Please help!

Re: Cover Path and Voice Mail

Follow this procedure for CallManager 3.2(2c)spD or better to set up a route point permitting direct transfer to anyone's voicemail. You transfer direct to voicemail by prefixing the extension with an asterisk.

This will permit the secretary to transfer the call to "*5000", which will go directly to voicemail without attempting to ring the manager's phone or following its coverage path.
