Cover Paths?

Newbie here. On our old Definity our end users had cover paths with 3 hops, the last being voicemail. Is there a way to do the same in CCM? I am told CCM only has forwarding, no true cover path functions. - Thanks

Hello Strees,

Call Manager has some options to address Cover Paths.

On the Forward to options on the DN page you have:

Forward Busy


Forward No Answer.

On all these options you can set the next extension you want to forward to.

(Cover Path)

If the (coverpath) does not answer and the forward to option of that (cover path)

is set to go to voice mail. The caller will hear the 1st called party Voice mail greeting.

So to answer you questions more specific.

There are no cover paths in Call Manger but only in Name.

you set the cover path in the forward to options.

We have some like this.

Forward busy --- cover to another extension

Forward no answer-- go to voice mail.

It works ok.

Another option we have is at the voice mail .

Have the users record their greetings to state that they can press "0" for the operator and that operator can be their Cover Path.
