This might be a stupid question but....

Does anyone know how to listen/ "preview" a aef without deploying it onto my system??

Also I would like to find out how I can put a logo on the screens of the phones.

thanx

Re: CRA Editor / XML Services

I am not aware of any method to preview .aef apps without configuring and running them on a CRA/CRS server. Perhaps someone else knows of a way, but since the .aef is interpreted by the CRA/CRS software and handled by the engine, I'm not sure there is a way around it.

There are a number of threads on this forum regarding configuring an idle logo.. you might find them helpful. Also check this link from Cisco which shows how to configure the idle url setting in CallManager:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_tech_note09186a00800a7479.shtml

If you don't have it yet, you'll need the Cisco IP Phone services SDK from developer support:

http://www.cisco.com/pcgi-bin/dev_support/access_level/product_support

Once you've got the SDK, you can use the gif2cip.exe utility to convert your .gif format logo to an IP-Phone-compatible .cip format. Put the output of the gif2cip process in a web page (ie asp or jsp etc) and configure CallManager's idle url to point to that web page.

Below is a sample .asp page. I removed the data from between the tags to save space, as this is just an example.

<%@ Language="Javascript" %>

<%

Response.ContentType = "text/xml";

%>
