You can use the AVImport tool (found under the Unity program group) to import large numbers of users from CSV files (we will create both NT and Exchange accounts for these folks if necessary). You can use the same tool for importing large numbers of existing mail users from an Exchange site.
What are you looking to do?

To follow on with with a similar question along the lines of the original poster: We would like to use the AvImport tool to import EXISTING Exchange users into Unity. We can produce csv files from a "cut sheet" for each potential subscriber in Unity and CallManager. We would like to use our csv with AvImport to: automatically add the subscriber's extention and also to make it easier to select specific users from Exchange. We will end up importing 800 users out of possible 8000 Exchange users.
We have attempted to use csv and AvImport to import existing Exchange users and we keep getting a generic error. Can the tool do what we want or do we need to do a hunt and peck to import the specific users?

The CSV import tool that comes with Unity is currently wired to only create new accounts. The import tool expects you to select users from Exchange (not via CSV) when importing "standing" users.
The best way to approach this is to prepopulate the Exchange "business phone field" which will then prepopulate your Exchange import column for you in our tool.
Here's a post on how to use the Exchange CSV import/update tools to do that quickly...
