cRTP configuration - number of connections

Hi there,

It says in the Cisco literature that by default when RTP header compression is enabled on an interface 16 cRTP headed compression connections are allowed per interface.

If I were to make a call does it consume two cRTP connections or one? If so how many voice calls can be supported in the default (16 connections) configuration, 16 or 8? I wish to support 30 concurrent voice calls across a VoIP link. I suspect I am looking at 60 cRTP connections, is this correct?

Thanks in advance

Jim

Each voip connection takes up 2 RTP connection so we count each direction as one connection. Therefore you do need 60 connections for 30 voip calls. The default as you said is 16. Hope this helps.
