DECEASED Ephone

When does a deceased ephone dissappear as I have one that was auto-registered and am trying to use its MAC address under the ephone I am trying to configured

voip1#show ephone

ephone-4 Mac:0015.2BB4.B9D7 TCP socket:[-1] activeLine:0 DECEASED

mediaActive:0 offhook:0 ringing:0 reset:0 reset_sent:0 paging 0 debug:0 caps:8

IP:10.1.1.3 50260 Telecaster 7960 keepalive 43 max_line 6

voip1(config)#no ephone 4

voip1(config)#ephone 1

voip1(config-ephone)#mac-address 0015.2BB4.B9D7

MAC address is already assigned with ephone 4.

Can not assign same MAC address with mutilple ephone.

I there some other way I should be removing it.

Is there a timer value

thanks

Re: DECEASED Ephone

Hi Jed,

Have you tried using the following command after the no ephone 4 command;

restart all (telephony-service)

Performs a fast reboot of all phones associated with a Cisco CME router.

The other method that I have seen people use is changing the mac of the ephone in question to a dummy mac so that the real mac can be reused.

Hope this helps!

Rob

Re: DECEASED Ephone

Rob

I removed its mac address to get around the problem. What I can't find out is when the deceased auto-registered ephones dissappear
