Kindly tell me the default codec used by IP phone 7960 or will the Ip phone use the codec accordig to the region it is in.

The Default codec for the region i
believe is G711. This is default codec for all calls
in a cisco call manager.

The default region is G.711 on CCM

As above it's G.711, but remember it's mu-law NOT a-law as default.
