destop agent login problem...

Whenever I start the cisco destop agent it says:

"Another agent is already logged into the specified extension"

Has anyone seen this problem before and remember the fix?

btw, i checked the phonedev.ini of the other stations with cda client, all the extensions were unique. rebooting the workstation didn't help.I had a hunch that the previous session was not released from the server. any idea how to release an idle session?

The simplest way to clear this up is to bounce the CTI server, which may not be an option for you during production traffic.

An alternative is to launch CTITest.exe, open a session to the CTI server, and log the offending extension out via this interface. After that, you should be able to launch the desktop client and connect successfully.
