Device Association error

Using Call Manager 4.1(3)sr2. Every time I try to associate my AD username with my phone I get the following error:

Could not update user. 1

Error No: -32

Error Description:

(There is no description).

I have not had this error on any other user except for me! I am the domain admin, and have full administrator rights to the call manager.

Has anyone seen this before?

Todd

Re: Device Association error

If it’s only one user and you’re using AD, please follow this procedure to fix it:

1) On the AD server go to a cmd prompt and type "mmc" then enter

2) In MMC select Console>Add/Remove Snapin

3) Select Add

4) Scroll down & select ADSI Edit

5) ADD

6) Close

7) OK

8) Right click on ADSI Edit, select Connect to & OK

Then do:

1) Find user in account that can not be updated

2) Right click on user & select Properties

3) Select Property View, scroll down to "ciscoUserProfile" & "ciscoUserProfileString"

4) Remove any value for each view. This will dis associate the user from any Cisco

profile, this is a good thing!!! Probably what happened is that somehow this line has

gotten corrupted.

5) Click OK

6) Find user in Global Directory associate the user with a device.

Re: Device Association error

Hi Todd,

Are you able to search users in CCMAdmin|User|GlobalDirectory ?

You user in AD is located in the same OU as others that are working?

You may gather a sniffer trace from CCM when doing this (Use netmon) and attach it to the post.

Thanks

Re: Device Association error

Yes I can search users in the Global Directory.

I am in the same OU as others that are working.

Will try sniffer and see what I get.
