devices or phones

how many devices can be attached to a single cisco call manager? in some description htere is mentioned, that 1 CCM can handle 2500 phones, others 2500 devices, what is true?

if there is a difference between phone and devices, can I calculate how many CCMs are needed?

Re: devices or phones

Hi,

Everything on a CCM is based on device weights. An MCS7835 supports 5000 device weights. An IP phone is a device itself which has got a device weight weight of 1. Similarly dfferent devices like gateways have different device weights. There is whole lot of device weight list on the CCO. Device is a generic term, which may contain IP phones, gateways etc.

Re: devices or phones

Hi,

I have heard, that there is an application, which is called something like "device calculator". is this cisco internal only? or where do I find this? or at least, where do I find the most actual information about device planning?
