Dial-out Applications with FXS module

My company uses a dial-out application called Remoteware by Xcellenet (www.xcellenet.com). This app does not support com port redirection, and we are currently considering implementing call managers to replace our legacy PBX. Are FXS ports on a 6509 the way to go or should I just bypass completely use a channel bank? Advice / experiences would be appreciated. Thanks.

You might consider an Adtran Atlas 550. We used one for a modem application, and when the channels aren't being used, they can be used by the Call Manager. All we did was take the PRI into the Atlas, dropped off 16 analog ports for modems, and then sent the DSX connection back to a DT24+. Much less expensive than running through the FXS.
