Dial Tone?

shave
Level 1
Level 1

Our outside dial access works great, just having one annoying problem, when we hit 9 to get an outside line, the line goes quiet, until we dial the first digit of the outside line we are calling, then after that digit we get dial tone on the line again. We only have 2 9.@ translation rules, can't seem to figure why either of these would cause this problem.

Anybody have any insights?

Thanks..

Do both of those translation patterns have outside dialtone checked? Most likely there is another pattern somewhere in the numplan that starts with 9 and does not provide a second dial tone. There was a thread about this a while ago, it might shed some light:

http://forums.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf?page=netprof&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Dpass_through%26location%3Doutline%4014.VfanaD5rvqP%5E1%40.ee70ca6

Things that could cause this that may also start with 9:

- call park ranges

- call pickup groups

- messagewaitingon and messagewaitingoff parameters

- pilot points

- other route/translation patterns

- DNs on phones

- uOne/Unity port DNs for voicemail

- MeetMe patterns

If you still can't figure it out we can check the database to see if there is anything there. Let us know.
