I want to know if its possible that i can connect ata phone line with my laptop modem and connect my isp? Actually i have to test a point of sale machine and see if it can connect to the bank network.

It is definetely possible. You may need to configure modem passthrough or modem relay on your gateway.

Modem passthrough is already configured, i am successfully able to send and recieve fax through this ATA.

So you can send fax, but not modem transmissions? If so, try to lower the maximum port speed for your modem.

it will never work because the ATA does not support modem pass-through.

We once did the followin config..
Modem---ATA----CCM----GWY (MGCP)----PSTN---RAS
ATA configured as SCCP client.
I will try to find the commands we used, but I remember that we had to enable modem pass-trough on the gateway.
