Hi,
I installed the FXO card on CME router. Is that possible to enable DID on FXO card ? so if someone call particular number then it will be forwarded to the cisco ip phone. I have done this on E1 card, but I am not sure about FXO.
many thanks for any feedback
thanks

No, but Cisco does makes a card for analog DID.
It is VIC-2DID.

Hi,
What kind of line should I connect to VIC-2DID ? Is it similiar like FXO lines ? I heard that it's only for incoming call, not for outgoing call. is that true ? My requirements are actually I need DID and outgoing call on the same lines. Do you ever know about VIC2-2DID ? what is the difference with VIC-2DID ?
thanks alot

You would get analog DID lines from the carrier. And yes, it is true , you cannot use the DID lines for outbound calling.
If you to get DID and inbound/outbound calling is use ISDN PRI.

How many phone numbers are associated with each analog line? If there is only one number per line you can simulate DID using the plar command in the dial peer. I have done this for a small CME implementation and it worked well.
