Hi,
Can someone tell me the difference between the two in-line enabled modules for the 6500 switches:
WS-X6348-RJ45V and WS-X6148-RJ45V
I checked for the data sheet of both modules and there is no difference. Then Why do we have different part numbers??

Banno,
The 6148 card is a new card that delivers the same basic functionality as the 6348 (i.e. their QoS capabilities are the same).
Two differences:
1) The 6148 is cheaper!
2) The 6148 is designed to support a future daughter board that will allow it to support 802.3af when it is ratified.
Hope this answers your question.
Regards,
Justin

I believe buffer size on the two modules are different - 1 M/port on 6348 and 1M/8 ports on the 6148.
