I've seen a couple recent posts about making changes directly in the CM SQL tables. I would like to know if many of you are doing this and with what success. Also, could someone from Cisco respond on the "official" position about this? Lastly are more efficient interfaces coming for making supporting thousands of phones? Minimum 4 clicks (for links that aren't easy to TAB to) for a simple line change (i.e. Line Text Display) quickly becomes unwieldy when making like changes to large numbers of phones.
I am using this for subsribing services and large rollouts of changes and such. we have about 385 phones so to do it manually would suck ass! Cisco will tell you not to touch it, but if you have some experience with sql it is a whole lot eaiser to do it that way. i would have a good backup before you start monkying around though. and if you really screw something up TAC may not be too forgiving. so tread lightly!
