I see subscribers aren't listed in the company directory unless you record a name for the subcscriber box. Is this normal? I seem to remember dialing a person by name and hearing "For extesnion XXXX press 1".<br><br>Thanks,<br><br>Brent<br><br>

Yes, this is normal.

What you were hearing was the subscriber message addressing conversation (which is different but similiar to the directory handler conversation).

The idea here is outside callers spelled the name of a person and getting a list back that includes "extension 1189" in it would be, well, confusing... if I knew the person's extension I wouldn't have bothered to go to the directory handler and spelled their name to find them. As such only subscribers that have their "list in directory" flag active AND have a recorded voice name are presented here.

for subscribers addressing messages, however, we figure they have a fighting chance of knowing who is at extension 1189 and if that's the guy they wanted to include on the "to" list or not.
