DNs in partition

I'm curious how most are seeting up their DNs. All of my DNs are not in any partition. I think I should add them all to a partition so I created a new DN and added it to a partition called SLA. The new DN (in partition SLA) was no longer able to recieve outside calls. What am I missing?

Thanks,

Patrick

Re: DNs in partition

Partitions go hand in hand with Calling Search Spaces.

If you add a number to a partition, the only way a device can call that number is if the calling device has a CSS assigned to it that contains that partition.

Basically, a CSS is a list of partitions, which defines what a device can call.

For your problem, you need to create a new CSS and add the new partition to that CSS. You then need to assign that CSS to the gateway, and any other device (phone, etc) that you want to be able to call the new DN.

By default, the partition is included in all CSS's, so devices not in a partition will still be able to be called.
